Senior Autonomous Systems Assurance Consultant Location: Bristol Role: Senior Consultant, Autonomous Systems Safety & Assurance Lead the safety, certification and assurance of advanced autonomous and machine‑learning‑enabled systems to ensure they are dependable, regulatory‑compliant and ready for safe deployment. Responsibilities
Lead safety and assurance activities for autonomous, uncrewed and AI‑enabled systems, applying industry frameworks such as AMLAS and emerging AI/autonomy safety guidance. Conduct system safety analysis, including HAZID, Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA) and STPA. Assess risks related to machine learning, sensor fusion, automated decision‑making and novel autonomy architectures. Develop structured, evidence‑based Safety Cases (including GSN) for autonomous and remotely‑operated systems. Shape the ongoing development of the organization’s autonomous systems safety capability, influencing tools, methods and strategic direction. Mentor consultants in autonomy safety techniques and best practice. Support autonomy‑focused business development, bid writing and client engagement; act as Bid Manager or technical contributor for proposals. Build lasting client relationships and represent the company at industry events, conferences and technical forums. Oversee delivery of autonomy assurance projects, ensuring quality, timeliness and budget control. Provide technical review, approval and oversight of key deliverables. Support project managers in risk identification and mitigation.
Qualifications
Relevant engineering or safety qualification; membership of a professional institution is beneficial. Proven experience in autonomous systems, uncrewed platforms, robotics or AI/ML‑enabled systems, ideally within defence or high‑integrity domains. Experience delivering safety assurance, Safety Case Reports, hazard analysis and recognised safety/assurance techniques. Experience in one or more of the Air, Land, Maritime, Nuclear or Robotics domains. Experience supporting business development activities or bid writing (desirable). Experience presenting technical papers or speaking at industry conferences (desirable). Eligibility for UK Security Clearance.
Travel may be required to customer facilities or partner sites in the UK and occasionally overseas. What We Offer

System Safety and Airworthiness Manager Location: Bristol Act as an expert in safety and airworthiness, developing and implementing engineering policy and processes to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement and maintain safety and environmental engineering policies, processes and supporting documentation. Implement and maintain a safety and environmental audit programme across all projects. Oversee the development of project Safety and Environmental artefacts such as SEMP, Hazard Logs, and Safety & Environmental Case Reports. Work with project teams to develop statutory and contractual Safety & Environmental requirements prior to System Requirements Reviews. Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend solutions. Arrange training to keep Safety & Environmental engineers competent. Fulfil airworthiness responsibilities within a DAOS organization as defined in MAA Regulatory Articles.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience in the defence and/or aerospace industries. Experience with common system safety and environmental tools, techniques and processes. Experience within the MoD acquisition organisation. Previous holder of formal safety and/or airworthiness delegation (Form 4). Experience of the design lifecycle and independent compliance verification. Knowledge of defence and aerospace design & development standards. Experience working to MAA Regulatory Articles.
Building Safety Consultant Location: Bristol (hybrid) Provide support and advice on building safety matters and develop building safety documentation for residential higher‑risk buildings. Key Responsibilities
Support and advise clients on building safety matters. Develop building safety cases and reports. Maintain statutory compliance for building and fire safety. Work with clients to implement building safety systems and engage residents.
Qualifications
CIOB Diploma in Building Safety Management (or working towards). NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent safety qualification. Membership of a professional body such as IOSH or CIOB.
Health and Safety Consultant Location: Bristol / Southwest (remote available) Deliver Health and Safety services to clients, including risk assessments, fire risk assessments, auditing, reporting and training. Key Responsibilities
Act as the Competent Person on behalf of the company for the client portfolio. Ensure smooth progress of client matters; respond to queries promptly. Generate ideas for improvement in service to clients and communicate them to the Regional Manager.
Qualifications
Health and Safety and Fire Risk Assessment experience. Diploma or degree level Health and Safety qualification (preferred). Membership with IOSH. Strong verbal communication skills.
System Safety Engineer – Defence Aerospace Contract 12‑month, up to £72 p/hr (inside IR35) Support multiple defence aircraft projects by developing safety analyses, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO‑178B/C, and DO‑254. Key Responsibilities
Utilise tools and techniques for system safety and hazard analysis. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders. Develop safety arguments and draft safety cases using GSN or CAE.
Required Skillset
Formal System Safety Engineering training or academic qualification. Experience in safety‑critical, regulated environments (aerospace, defence, rail, automotive). Experience with safety standards (Def Stan 00‑056, MIL‑STD‑882E). Experience with safety assessment techniques such as Fault Tree Analysis and Bowtie analysis. Demonstrable experience applying safety and risk engineering processes (FHA, SSA, CCA).
