Automation Technician Basildon, Essex | Permanent, Full-Time | £40,000 – £50,000 DOE Are you an experienced Automation Technician or Control Systems Engineer ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for multiple skilled professionals to join a dynamic and growing team designing and assembling bespoke automation systems used around the globe. This is a hybrid role combining hands-on electrical control system work with software programming — perfect for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working across the full project lifecycle. What You’ll Be Doing: Designing PLC-based electrical control systems
Programming PLCs, HMIs, safety systems, and configuring drives and remote I/O
Integrating equipment such as vision systems, servos, and conveyors
Fault-finding, testing, and commissioning machines in-house and on client sites
Collaborating with electricians, panel builders, and wider teams for smooth assembly and deployment
Occasional international travel for commissioning (approx. 40%)
? What We’re Looking For: Level 3 qualification or higher in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
