An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Automation Engineer to join a highly automated, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
This is a standalone specialist role, offering full ownership of automation systems across site. Its ideally suited to an engineer looking to step into a position with real autonomy, influence, and long-term development.
The business has invested heavily in its production capabilities and operates a complex, fast-paced environment supplying into major retailers and global markets.
The Role
As Automation Engineer, you will take responsibility for all control and automation systems across site, ensuring maximum uptime, reliability, and continuous improvement.
You will play a key role in both day-to-day support and longer-term projects, working closely with engineering and production teams.
Key Responsibilities:
PLC programming, fault finding and modification (Siemens / Allen Bradley)
Supporting and improving SCADA and HMI systems
Driving automation improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime
Investigating and resolving complex control system faults
Supporting integration of new equipment and system upgrades
Working on continuous improvement and capital projects
About You
We are looking for a technically strong Automation Engineer who enjoys problem solving and taking ownership within a manufacturing environment.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience in a PLC / Automation Engineering role within manufacturing
Strong knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens S7 / TIA Portal, Allen Bradley etc.)
Experience with SCADA / HMI systems
Understanding of industrial communication networks
Ability to fault-find at both electrical and software level
A proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills
