The Autism Support Worker Job
This Autism Support Worker role is a long-term, full-time position starting after the half term and continuing for the remainder of the academic year and into the next. You will support secondary-aged pupils across KS1-2 in the classroom, helping them achieve their learning goals and reach their full potential.
The Autism Support Worker Skills
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Autism Support Worker with a good understanding of ASD and complex needs. You will work both 1:1 and within the classroom to support student's learning, motivation, and personal development.
You will have the opportunity to guide pupils through activities that promote independence, resilience, and lifelong learning skills, making a tangible difference in their educational journey.

Experience as an Autism Support Worker in an SEN school is desirable but not essential
A genuine passion for supporting students with SEN needs
Patient, calm, and engaging classroom manner
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Registered DBS or willingness to apply for a new DBS
Ability to build positive rapport with individual pupils
