Role Overview

As Audit Optimisation Senior Manager, you will be responsible for designing standardised audit templates and workbooks. You will act as a key point of contact within the standardisation team, proactively identify opportunities for audit optimisation, and support partners and senior managers in developing and implementing new products across the firm.

Main Responsibilities

• Act as a major point of contact within the standardisation team, responding quickly to audit team needs.
• Proactively identify new opportunities for standardisation and optimisation.
• Deliver high‑quality products in line with the optimisation agenda.
• Complete assignments within agreed budgets and timescales, identifying further improvement opportunities.
• Ensure the appropriate mix of knowledge and skills is applied to each project.
• Adhere to the firm’s risk management and quality control procedures at all times.
• Support Partners and Senior Managers in developing new products.
• Travel to UK BDO offices to support roll‑outs of new products.

Key Qualifications

• ACA/ICAS qualified or overseas equivalent.
• Educated up to degree level or CTS.
• Previous experience of audit quality.
• Good working knowledge of UK and International GAAS, IFRS, UK GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Working knowledge of financial products, firm services, advice and regulation, including AML.
• Experience of systems/controls testing and substantive auditing (consolidations, group audits, statutory accounts, disclosures).
• Project management experience.

Desirable Qualifications

• Sector experience relevant to BDO audited entities.
• Experience with listed audited entities.
• Experience auditing international groups and collaborating with BDO offices worldwide.
