Job Title: Warehouse Manager

Location: London N1 (with potential relocation to North London)

Salary: £50,000–£60,000 per year (depending on experience) + end-of-year bonus + paid overtime


Warehouse Manager – Lead the Next Stage of Our Growth


As our client onntinues to expand, they are looking for a hands-on, highly organised Warehouse Manager to take our operations to the next level. With plans to move into larger premises in North London, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to shape and develop a warehouse department within a growing business.


This role is more than day-to-day operations — you will play a key role in building processes, developing staff, and driving operational excellence. Working closely with senior leadership, you will ensure our warehouse runs efficiently, safely, and to the highest industry standards.


You will also oversee Health & Safety and HR processes across the company, supported by our HR/H&S department, ensuring compliance and continuously improving best practices.


The Role


Warehouse Operations (Daily Activities)

You will be responsible for keeping our warehouse running smoothly and efficiently every day by:

  • Ensuring the warehouse team operates effectively and meets daily objectives
  • Resourcing staff appropriately to handle peak activity periods
  • Maintaining quality control across all operational stages
  • Supervising equipment preparations to ensure high standards of presentation, functionality and completeness
  • Ensuring all preparations are completed at least one day in advance
  • Coordinating the loading and unloading of vehicles according to delivery schedules
  • Planning packing and loading to ensure safe transport and efficient delivery routes
  • Liaising with production, rental, operations and logistics teams to coordinate activities
  • Communicating with clients when required
  • Reporting loss and damage immediately after check-ins to relevant departments
  • Maintaining clean, tidy and organised workspaces at all times
  • Reporting building repairs promptly to the building manager
  • Carrying out daily Health & Safety checks


General Management


You will help shape and improve how our warehouse operates by:

  • Developing and refining warehouse processes and workflows
  • Optimising warehouse layout and improving workspaces
  • Ensuring staffing levels match operational needs
  • Contributing to and delivering company-wide strategic objectives


Staff Management


A key part of the role is building and supporting a high-performing team.


Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring staff receive appropriate training and development opportunities
  • Organising training programmes, workshops and e-learning
  • Managing HR processes including:
  • Recruitment interviews
  • Probation reviews
  • Performance management and appraisals
  • Disciplinary meetings where required
  • Monitoring staff absence, holidays and sick leave in line with company policy
  • Maintaining employee records within BrightHR
  • Delivering onboarding sessions for new employees
  • Promoting a positive, supportive workplace culture with open communication


Health & Safety Management

You will oversee H&S compliance across the warehouse and support company-wide safety practices by:

  • Ensuring all staff complete mandatory Health & Safety training, including Peninsula online modules
  • Implementing recommendations from the H&S manager
  • Managing internal H&S procedures, compliance checks and documentation
  • Delivering full H&S inductions for all new starters
  • Ensuring incidents, near misses and accidents are correctly logged
  • Conducting site walk-arounds, inspections and risk assessments
  • Promoting safe working practices including manual handling and equipment use
  • Maintaining accurate H&S documentation for audit and compliance purposes

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a warehouse in a similar environment
  • Strong ability to build and implement structured processes
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and its application
  • Excellent people management skills, including handling challenging situations professionally
  • A senior leader who contributes to company strategy and long-term development

Desirable Skills

  • Experience using Current RMS or similar rental management software
  • Practical experience applying H&S legislation in operational environments
  • Previous HR management experience
