Attendance Officer Location: Tower Hamlets, London School Type: Secondary School Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Attendance Officer to join our busy secondary school in Tower Hamlets. This is a key role within the school, supporting student welfare and ensuring high levels of attendance and punctuality across all year groups.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and track student attendance daily, identifying patterns of absence and lateness Work closely with students, parents/carers, and staff to improve attendance levels Follow up on absences, including making phone calls and conducting home visits where appropriate Maintain accurate attendance records and produce regular reports Liaise with external agencies where necessary to support students with persistent absence Promote a positive culture of attendance throughout the schoolEssential Requirements:

Proven experience in an attendance, safeguarding, or pastoral role within a school setting Strong knowledge of attendance procedures and relevant legislation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Confidence using school data systems (e.g. SIMS or similar)What We Offer:
