Associate / Technical Director - Transport Planner \n\nLocation: London, Bristol, Leeds (Hybrid Working) \nType: Full Time, Permanent \n\nLooking to take the next step in your transport planning career and move into a senior leadership position? \n\nAn opportunity has arisen for an Associate / Technical Director Transport Planner to join a well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy delivering complex transport planning solutions across the UK. This role is suited to a senior consultant who combines strong technical expertise with client leadership, commercial awareness and team development.

\n\nThe Role \n\nYou will be responsible for leading the delivery of transport planning commissions across a range of sectors, managing key client relationships and contributing to the strategic growth of the transport planning function. \n\nThe role includes overseeing Transport Assessments and Transport Statements, applying recognised transport appraisal techniques, managing modelling inputs and ensuring high technical standards. You will also mentor and develop colleagues, manage project finances and support work-winning activity.

\n\nKey responsibilities include: \n\nManaging and developing client relationships \n\nPreparing and negotiating fee proposals \n\nLeading transport planning projects from inception to delivery \n\nManaging budgets, programmes and resources \n\nProviding technical leadership and quality assurance \n\nMentoring and developing team members \n\nKeeping up to date with policy, guidance and best practice \n\nAdding value through pragmatic, commercially focused solutions \n\nAbout You \n\nYou will be a highly experienced transport planner, ideally from a consultancy background, confident operating at Associate or Technical Director level. \n\nYou should demonstrate: \n\nA relevant degree qualification \n\nSignificant experience delivering Transport Assessments and Transport Statements \n\nStrong capability with PICADY and ARCADY (Junctions 9) \n\nExperience using or interpreting LINSIG outputs \n\nUnderstanding of micro-simulation and strategic modelling principles \n\nStrong knowledge of DMRB and Manual for Streets \n\nExperience with access, parking and sustainable transport strategies \n\nKnowledge of S106 agreements, S278 agreements and Traffic Regulation Orders \n\nExcellent communication, leadership and client-facing skills \n\nWhat's On Offer \n\nCompetitive salary with comprehensive benefits package \n\n25 days annual leave (increasing with service) \n\nPrivate medical cover, pension scheme, life assurance and income protection \n\nHybrid working arrangements \n\nProfessional membership subscriptions paid \n\nStructured career development, mentoring and leadership opportunities \n\nSupportive, collaborative culture with regular team and social events \n\nIf you are interested in this opportunity contact Michael on (phone number removed) \n\nAldwych Consulting values diversity and promotes equality.
