You will have experience of undertaking the design and project management of structural and civil engineering projects. You will have been working on large scale projects and possess a strong awareness of the Construction industry. You will also have strong experience as a project engineer responsible for management of the design phase including financial management and control of the design process with experience of managing a team being desirable. You should have the commercial acumen to assist in key project decisions.The role and responsibilities.As a senior member of staff the responsibilities shall include, but shall not be limited to the following:Managing projects effectively and efficientlyAbility to manage a team and effectively plan resourceActing as a key client interface at a technical project levelAbility to develop designs from early concept stage through to final construction issue informationAttendance at Design Team meetings with Clients, other design collaborators and communicate design ideas through sketches, models and presentationsWith the support of the Associate Director / Management Director, evaluate project challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities 1/2Complying with all aspects of AKTs Quality Management Systems/ProceduresTechnical support and training to staffParticipate in forums to assist in the development of new ideas / innovation to promote and improve the company design reputationInterface with wider businesses within the Group to ensure submissions maximise potential opportunities to offer full delivery of available ServicesOverall Project Management including program and resource monitoring, quality control, technical management and deliveryReporting on a regular basis to the Senior Management team, ensuring accurate and timely reports of key project deliverablesComplete performance reviews, manage attendance, holidays and any staff wellbeing issues as appropriate with the support of HRAssist in the drafting of invoicing forecasts for projects with the support of Management DirectorsEnsure strong team communication to facilitate exchanges of information and knowledge across the wider practiceSupport and participate in AKT IIs Technical agendaComply with responsibilities as defined in the Groups Health, Safety & Environment.
