Research Associate – CAR-T Cell Therapy

Oxford, UK | Biotechnology | Full-time, Permanent

We are currently partnering with an innovative, fast-growing biotech company developing next-generation CAR-T cell therapies targeting solid tumours and other high-value oncology indications.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate to join a collaborative R&D team and contribute directly to cutting-edge immunotherapy programmes in a dynamic start-up environment.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design and optimise in vitro functional assays (cytotoxicity, cytokine release, proliferation) to evaluate CAR-T activity
  • Culture and expand primary human T cells using aseptic techniques
  • Develop and validate flow cytometry panels for immunophenotyping
  • Support high-throughput screening of CAR constructs
  • Analyse experimental data and present findings to cross-functional teams
  • Maintain accurate records using electronic lab notebooks (ELNs)
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers across R&D and translational teams
  • Contribute to lab operations (SOPs, reagents, equipment upkeep)
  • Mentor junior team members where appropriate


What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • BSc (2–5 years’ experience) or MSc (1–3 years’ experience) in Immunology, Cell Biology, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and immunological assays
  • Experience in flow cytometry and data analysis (e.g. FlowJo, Prism)
  • Industry experience in a biotech or biopharma setting
