Associate Quantity Surveyor - Defence Sector - NEC Contracts

A leading international construction and property consultancy is seeking an Associate Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding Defence team. This is a standout opportunity for an Associate Quantity Surveyor to take a senior position on complex, high-value programmes, delivering critical defence sector projects under NEC contracts.

As an Associate Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of commercial delivery across multiple schemes, providing strategic cost advice while leading client relationships and mentoring junior team members. The Associate Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in ensuring effective cost control, risk management and successful project outcomes from feasibility through to final account.

The Role * Leading cost planning, budgeting and feasibility studies across defence projects * Managing NEC contract administration and commercial strategy * Overseeing procurement, tender documentation and supply chain engagement * Managing project costs, variations, risk and value engineering * Producing financial reports and advising clients at a senior level * Leading on valuations, payments and final accounts * Mentoring and developing junior Quantity Surveyors

The Associate Quantity Surveyor? * Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline * MRICS chartered (or nearing completion) * Strong NEC contract experience (essential) * Background in consultancy, infrastructure or defence sectors * Excellent leadership, communication and client-facing skills
