London, United Kingdom
Full time
Application deadline: 2025-08-15
We have an opportunity for a Commercial Energy Associate to join our Energy and Regulated Industries team in our London office.
About the team and the role
Energy is one of the most dynamic and economically robust sectors of the UK economy, and very much a key part of the political agenda. As such, it provides commercial lawyers with an opportunity to develop and utilise a broad range of legal skills in a sector which is fundamental to the UK economy.
Our specialist Energy team is highly regarded in the UK market and is recognized as a leading energy practice by Legal 500 and Chambers. We are known for providing technically excellent advice in a pragmatic, robust, and friendly manner, with a supportive and business-driven approach.
Our work includes advising on a wide range of commercial contracts relevant to the sector, such as long-term power purchase and fuel supply agreements, and multi-party industry codes. We also support energy transactional work, including developing, financing, and selling energy generation and infrastructure projects, working closely with colleagues across the firm. Our clients include governments, regulatory bodies, utilities, project developers, network owners/operators, energy suppliers, and major corporates.
This role offers the opportunity to develop client relationships and handle direct client communication, both via phone and face-to-face or virtual meetings. The team is collaborative, non-hierarchical, and works seamlessly across regulatory and commercial focuses, often collaborating with specialists from other parts of the firm.
