Associate Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services Design\n\nAn established building services engineering consultancy based in South Croydon is looking to appoint an Associate Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level engineer ready to step into a leadership role and help shape the direction of the electrical design function.\n\nAbout the Projects\n\nYou’ll be working on a diverse portfolio that spans:\n\nHigh-end residential developments\n\t\nCommercial and office refurbishments\n\t\nIndustrial and warehouse facilities\n\t\nCare homes and assisted living schemes\n\t\nEducation and community buildings\n\t\nMixed-use developments\n\t\nSustainable, low-energy retrofit projects\n\nThe consultancy is known for delivering innovative, energy-efficient engineering solutions across both new-build and refurbishment sectors.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead the delivery of electrical design across multiple projects, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with relevant standards.\n\t\nManage and mentor junior engineers, supporting their technical development.\n\t\nUndertake full electrical design duties including lighting, power, containment, fire alarms, security systems, and renewable/low-carbon technologies.\n\t\nCollaborate with mechanical teams, architects, contractors, and end clients from concept through to completion.\n\t\nProduce drawings, specifications, reports, and calculations using industry-standard software.\n\t\nProvide technical leadership during client meetings, design reviews, and site inspections.\n\t\nDrive best practices in sustainability, net-zero approaches, and modern building services design.\n\nAbout You\n\nDegree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering, or equivalent experience.\n\t\nChartered or working toward Chartership (CIBSE, IET or similar).\n\t\nStrong background in building services consultancy, ideally covering both new-build and refurbishment work.\n\t\nConfident leading projects and teams, with excellent communication and client-facing skills.\n\t\nProficient with relevant software such as Amtech/Trimble, Dialux/Relux, and AutoCAD; BIM/Revit experience is beneficial
