Associate Director - Fire Engineering (JPC-67)
Location: Hybrid / Birmingham, with occasional travel into London
Overview:
Our Client is a leading consultancy specialising in fire safety engineering across the built environment. With a reputation for technical excellence and a client-first approach, they work across a diverse range of sectors including residential, commercial, heritage, healthcare, and high-rise developments.
As they continue to grow, they’re looking for an experienced and driven Associate Director to lead project delivery, manage key client relationships, and help shape the future of the Company.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a fire engineering professional who is technically strong, commercially minded, and ready to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead fire engineering projects from concept through to completion.
Develop and review fire strategies for complex and high-profile buildings.
Act as primary point of contact for clients and design teams.
Manage and mentor junior engineers and consultants.
Contribute to business development and tendering.
Support the technical direction and commercial performance of the team.
Ensure compliance with current UK fire safety regulations, including BS 9999, BS 9991, and ADB.
Experience
At least 8 years’ experience in Fire Engineering.
Holds Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE).
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
Degree-qualified in Fire Engineering or a related field.
Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working toward it.
At least 8 years of experience in fire engineering consultancy.
In-depth knowledge of UK building regulations and fire codes.
Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills.
Experience working on large and complex developments.
Passion for mentoring and developing teams.
