Purpose & Scope of the Role As Regional Lead / Associate Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success and growth of our North West ecology team within Tetra Tech’s UK Nature division. This position blends leadership, technical delivery, and business development, requiring a hands‑on approach to ecological consultancy alongside strategic oversight. You will lead a high‑performing team, ensuring the delivery of complex ecological projects to the highest standards, while strengthening client relationships and identifying new opportunities. Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to shaping innovative, sustainable solutions across sectors including residential, energy, defence and infrastructure. Client Engagement
Build and maintain trusted client relationships Position Tetra Tech as a leading partner for ecological consultancy Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders at all levels Lead and support delivery of complex ecological projects Provide technical oversight from inception through to completion Support and guide project managers across the region
Technical Expertise
Deliver and review high‑quality ecological assessments and reports Provide expert input on EIA, HRA and planning processes Champion best practice, innovation and knowledge sharing
Business Growth
Support strategic growth and identify new market opportunities Lead and contribute to bids, tenders and framework submissionsLeverage professional networks to drive new business
Skills, Qualifications & Experience A relevant degree in ecology or a related field, with Full Membership of CIEEM and Chartered Ecologist or Environmentalist status. Proven consultancy experience delivering ecological projects, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to lead teams and develop client relationships. A full UK driving licence is required. This role offers flexible and hybrid working, with an expectation of regular collaboration in regional offices across the North West.
