The role – what is it we would like you to do?
Currie & Brown is currently looking for a cost consultant and a senior cost consultant. The successful candidate will support project leaders in delivering high-quality services, achieving successful outcomes for clients, sharing knowledge across projects, fostering innovation, and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider across various projects such as large commercial new builds for blue-chip clients, private residential developments, towers, and national government frameworks.
Your core duties will involve:
- Providing accurate cost advice and reporting to clients
- Delivering projects, commissions, and professional assignments
- Setting objectives and priorities proactively as a team player
- Maintaining effective communication for successful project completion; liaising with managers to ensure financial control
- Undertaking commercial management services with limited supervision
- Delivering work outputs accurately and on time
- Supporting the team leader/service leaders in cost management of projects
- Representing the company professionally; meeting, negotiating, and building strong client relationships
What skills and attributes are we looking for?
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
- Experience in the private commercial sector, including offices, residential, hospitality, major projects, fit-out, and refurbishment
- Proficiency in CostX or other Cost Planning software
- Sustainability and data skills, e.g., carbon assessment and Power BI
- Pre- and post-contract experience
- Strong technical writing, client-facing, and communication skills
- Well-organized, diligent, proactive, assertive, disciplined, and commercially savvy
- A team player with a positive attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible
