Job Title: Associate Civil Engineer\n\nRef. No.: CJD0612C25\n\nLocation: London\n\nSalary: £63,000 - £68,000\n\nThis is a rare opportunity to join my client, an newly-established, innovative Multidisciplinary Consultancy, currently in the process of developing themselves as market-leaders in the Water and wider Civil Engineering sectors. As a recently-established consultancy, they are proactively seeking a talented, determined Associate Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of drainage and non-infrastructure design who is willing to win, manage, and successfully deliver on a wide array of challenging projects within the sector.
You will effectively build and develop a newly-established team of engineering design professionals, based in the diverse, richly-cultural Capital City of London.\n\nBenefits for the role of Associate Civil Engineer include (but are not limited to):\n\n- Competitive salary (commensurate with qualifications, skills, and experience)\n\n- Employee Pension Scheme\n\n- Generous annual leave entitlement with flexible working opportunities\n\n- Life Insurance\n\n- Dedication to your Continuing Professional Development (CPD)\n\n- Opportunities to win and deliver a number of diverse engineering projects across the region and beyond\n\n- Proactively influencing the company's development\n\nResponsibilities for the role of Associate Civil Engineer include:\n\n- Delivering a wide array of projects and developments\n\n- Overseeing a newly-established team of Civil Engineering professionals, mentoring them whilst encouraging their Continuing Professional Development (CPD)\n\n- Leading all aspects of design projects, including budgeting, resourcing, scheduling, and successful delivery/implementation\n\n- Proactively working to win both infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects, alike\n\n- Managing important professional relations with clients and other stakeholders, across the public and private sectors\n\n- Preparing, checking, and submitting technical documents, including reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, and more\n\n- Continually enforcing company policies, procedures, and best practice\n\n- Upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times\n\n- Contributing to the company's business development strategies, acting as a trusted, go-to representative during client meetings, site visits, etc.\n\nRequired skills and experience for the role of Associate Civil Engineer include:\n\n- A Degree in Civil Engineering (or a cognate discipline)\n\n- Chartered Status with a recognised Professional Body (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, etc.)\n\n- Extensive experience of working in a design capacity, within a UK-based consultancy\n\n- Demonstrable experience of working with water-based projects\n\n- Experience of detailed drainage and civil engineering design\n\n- Well-versed in the use of various software packages (such as Revit, AutoCAD, etc.)\n\n- Considerable experience of producing, checking, and amending technical documents for submission\n\n- Prior experience of managing projects and people within the sector\n\n- Extensive experience of managing client and stakeholder relations\n\n- Confidence in winning diverse projects across the region, and delivering these to the highest of standards\n\n- Outstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills\n\n- Possess a full, valid UK driving licence\n\nDesirable skills and experience for the role of Associate Civil Engineer include:\n\n- A Higher Degree in a relevant discipline\n\n- Experience of having worked on water-based non-infrastructure design projects (e.g., reservoirs, water treatment works, etc.)\n\n- Experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments\n\n- Experience of Sustainable Drainage Design (SuDS)\n\n- Experience of working in a public-facing role\n\nIf you are interested in the role of Associate Civil Engineer, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
