Job Description

Sector: Specialist Tax Advisory / Professional Services Partnerships

The Opportunity

A specialist advisory firm is looking for a relationship‑driven Associate to build and nurture partnerships with accountancy firms across the UK. This is not a product‑sales role — it’s about credibility, trust and helping accountants access specialist R&D expertise for their clients.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and manage a targeted portfolio of accountancy firms
  • Research firm profiles, client bases and sector focus
  • Engage partners and senior managers through thoughtful, professional outreach
  • Explain when R&D tax work becomes specialist and how expert support protects clients
  • Develop long‑term referral relationships built on trust and technical integrity
  • Coordinate introductions between accountants, clients and the technical team
  • Maintain CRM accuracy and track referrals, engagement and pipeline activity
  • Attend relevant tax, finance and accountancy events
  • Share market insights and partner needs with the wider team
  • Learn and apply a consultative sales approach, supporting client meetings end‑to‑end

Who This Suits

You enjoy relationship‑based selling, working with professional advisors and operating in a reputation‑led environment. You’re curious about tax, innovation and business structures, and you’re comfortable speaking to accountants as peers. Organisation, credibility and long‑term partnership building matter more to you than short‑term wins.

Prior R&D tax experience isn’t required — but respect for compliance, detail and professionalism is essential.

What Success Looks Like

  • Accountants view you as a knowledgeable, trusted contact
  • You build a growing portfolio of active referral partners
  • Referrals are well‑qualified, well‑positioned and long‑term
  • You become a credible channel manager within the R&D ecosystem
  • You develop strong consultative sales capability

What’s Offered

  • Full training and curated external sales development
  • Flexible benefits platform (5% of salary contribution)
  • Pension, life assurance (3x salary), private medical (post‑probation)
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays, with buy/sell options
  • Travel & subsistence expenses policy
  • Regular social events
  • Modern offices in London or St Albans
