The Role:
The Assistive Technologist role is pivotal at Oldham College, focused on cultivating a supportive and inclusive environment where all students feel valued and empowered to reach their full potential. This role involves delivering high-impact assistive technology (AT) support across college, championing inclusive digital practices, providing personalised learner support, and collaborating with staff to embed accessibility and adaptive strategies into teaching and learning.
Requirements:
Experience working with learners with a range of additional needs (e.g., dyslexia, ADHD, autism, visual impairments) in an educational setting
Knowledge of assistive technologies and an interest in emerging technologies and a proactive approach to trialing and implementing new tools to support learners.
An understanding of inclusive education principles and how assistive technology can remove barriers to learning and promote independence.
The ability to forge and sustain good working relationships with colleagues and external agencies.
