Assistant Site Manager – Housebuilding

Temporary to Permanent (12–14 weeks)

£210 – £230 per shift

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to support the delivery of a residential development in Whitby, North Yorkshire. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity, with a long-term position available for the right candidate following an initial 12–14 week period.

This role would suit someone who is hands-on, proactive, and confident working as part of a site team on either volume or bespoke housebuilding projects.

The Role:

As anassistant Site Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities include:

* Supporting the Site Manager in the coordination of trades, subcontractors, and suppliers

* Monitoring site progress and assisting in maintaining programme targets

* Ensuring high standards of health & safety are adhered to at all times

* Conducting site inspections and quality checks

* Assisting with inductions, toolbox talks, and site documentation

* Helping manage materials, logistics, and site organisation

* Acting as a point of contact on-site when required

Requirements:

* Proven experience within housebuilding (volume or bespoke)

* Valid SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certificates (essential)

* Strong understanding of site operations and construction processes

* Ability to work collaboratively within a site team

* Good organisational and communication skills

* Proactive attitude with a willingness to get stuck in
