Assistant Restaurant Manager Luxury Country House Hotel Devon/Cornwall Border
I am currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join a beautiful, independently owned country house hotel on the Devon/Cornwall border.
This 21-bedroom, Grade I listed property is set within 100+ acres of woodland and gardens and has an outstanding reputation for modern British cuisine, seasonal produce, and refined yet welcoming service.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong supervisor or existing Assistant Manager looking to take the next step within a highly regarded hospitality business.
The Role Working closely with senior management and the kitchen team, you will support the day-to-day running of the restaurant while maintaining exceptional service standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting in leading the restaurant team and ensuring consistently high standards

Delivering a polished, guest-focused dining experience

Training and developing junior team members

Supporting wine service (good knowledge of house wines required; further development encouraged)

Leading food and beverage service for private functions and small weddings

Acting as Manager on Duty during evening shifts

Ensuring strong communication between front of house and kitchen

This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident, organised, and passionate about quality hospitality.
The Ideal Candidate Experience at supervisory or Assistant Manager level within a quality hotel or restaurant

Strong food knowledge and genuine passion for service

Excellent attention to detail

Comfortable leading a team in a busy but intimate environment

Full UK driving licence (essential due to rural location)

The Package Competitive salary of up £35,000 per annum

Guaranteed 4048 hours per week (flexibility available)

Circa £5,000 per annum additional earnings from service charge/gratuities

Staff accommodation available for those relocating
