Job Description

Synergy Personnel Ltd are recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a well-respected main contractor to join a growing commercial team.\n\nThis is an office-based position with regular site visits, supporting the commercial management of construction projects across a range of sectors including commercial, residential, education, healthcare and industrial.\n\nThe successful candidate will assist with cost control, procurement, valuations, CVRs, subcontractor management and general commercial reporting, working closely with site teams, project managers and senior commercial staff to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.\n\nKey responsibilities will include:\n\n * \n\n Assisting with monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs) and financial reporting\n\n * \n\n Supporting procurement of subcontractors and suppliers\n\n * \n\n Assisting with valuations, variations and payment applications\n\n * \n\n Supporting subcontractor commercial management, including final accounts\n\n * \n\n Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation\n\n * \n\n Working closely with site teams to understand progress and commercial impacts\n\nWe are keen to speak with candidates who:\n\n * \n\n Hold, or are working towards, a degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management\n\n * \n\n Have experience working for a UK main contractor\n\n * \n\n Have a good understanding of construction processes and commercial principles\n\n * \n\n Possess strong numeracy, organisational and communication skills\n\n * \n\n Are proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel\n\nDesirable experience includes:\n\n * \n\n Commercial construction project experience\n\n * \n\n Familiarity with JCT contracts\n\n * \n\n Knowledge of valuation and CVR processes\n\nOur client offers:\n\n * \n\n Competitive salary and benefits package\n\n * \n\n Structured training and development programme\n\n * \n\n Support towards professional qualifications\n\n * \n\n Clear progression opportunities within a growing commercial team\n\n * \n\n Exposure to a variety of construction projects\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career with a respected main contractor.\n\nFor further information or to apply, please get in touch with Synergy Personnel Ltd
