Our client, a leading water sector specialist are seeking an Assistant Project Manager ideally located in the Sussex area.Ideally candidates will have a technical background (Mechanical, Electrical, ICA) and previous experience of working within the water sector.Overview An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of projects across the South. This role is ideal for a Junior Project Engineer or Project Engineer seeking progression into a project management position. The successful candidate will assist in coordinating project activities, managing resources, maintaining compliance, and ensuring client satisfaction while supporting delivery to programme and budget targets.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and oversee site teams and specialist subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely and efficientlyPrepare, maintain and update core project documentation throughout the project lifecycleMonitor project costs, track expenditure and support financial control processesMaintain regular communication with clients and key stakeholders, building strong professional relationshipsContribute to structured monthly reporting on project performance, risks and progressSupport environmental protection measures and ensure works minimise environmental impactAssist in managing operational and maintenance (O&M) deliverables in line with programme deadlinesEnsure all activities comply with relevant health and safety legislation and internal proceduresUtilise project planning tools (such as Microsoft Project) to track timelines and progressCandidate RequirementsExperience within Water, Construction, or Industrial sectorsStrong client-facing communication and stakeholder engagement skillsWorking knowledge of health and safety regulations within a project environmentExperience using project planning software (e.g., Microsoft Project)Willingness to work towards the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ)Full UK driving licence, with flexibility to travel to client sites as requiredRelevant trade or technical qualificationPrevious experience within the Water industryJBRP1_UKTJ
