Assistant Project Manager

Annual Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 Location: Warlingham, Surrey Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join a great client of ours that supports within the leisure and hospitality sector. This role is ideal for individuals transitioning from a trade or site-based background to an office-based project management career. The successful candidate will benefit from structured training, clear progression paths, and hands-on exposure to live projects.

Day-to-day of the role:

Work closely with senior Project Managers to ensure the successful delivery of projects. Assist in the planning and delivery of refurbishment and maintenance projects. Conduct site visits, surveys, and progress inspections to ensure projects are on track. Support cost control, procurement activities, and coordination of subcontractors. Help prepare and monitor project programmes and schedules. Attend site and progress meetings to monitor performance and resolve issues. Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies, and quality standards. Manage variations, project documentation, and reporting requirements effectively.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Relevant industry experience in a site-based or trade role (e.g., Site Manager, Assistant Site Manager, Qualified Tradesperson). Essential certifications: SSSTS or SMSTS. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Full, clean UK driving licence. Ability to commute daily to the office in Warlingham, Surrey. A long-term career mindset with ambition to progress into a Project Manager role.
