About the Role

We believe that everyone should have access to excellent bladder and bowel care. Our service promotes this through holistic assessment and a wide range of treatment options. The post holder will work as part of the Bladder and Bowel Care team, delivering specialist healthcare focused on the specific bladder and bowel needs of service users.

This role is primarily based within care homes or patients' homes but may include clinic settings as appropriate, in line with the Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF). The post holder will act as the designated contact for care homes within their responsibility, providing support, education, and advice to staff, as well as direct patient assessment and treatment planning.

Responsibilities

  1. Support the service manager in providing cost-effective provision of incontinence products.
  2. Work autonomously within the boundaries of Assistant Practitioner Competencies, carrying out delegated clinic tasks that may cross professional care boundaries.
  3. Manage a clinical caseload actively and participate in local and national education and training events.
  4. Provide education to a broad audience, developing innovative delivery methods.
  5. Guide community nurses and service users on clinical decisions regarding pad use, assisting the Operations Manager and Clinical Lead to maintain an economically secure service.
  6. Participate in wider team activities within the Trust, both in person and via MS Teams.
  7. Drive between clinics and care/residential homes, supporting the community-based service.

Candidate Requirements

Previous experience is desirable; however, enthusiastic clinicians wishing to develop specialist knowledge and skills are encouraged to apply. A full induction program will be provided.

Working Pattern

37.5 hours per week.

Additional Information

This is a fixed-term 12-month contract. For NHS employees, this may be a secondment opportunity. The role involves driving between clinics and homes and participating in team activities both in person and remotely.
