Job Description
Assistant Marine Operations Manager\nDover, Kent\n£46,000 - £48,500pa + Benefits\nMonday to Friday 8am - 5pm + Overtime when required\n\nKHR are working with a well-established organisation in the marine and environmental services sector to recruit an Assistant Marine Operations Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected and growing business that provides specialist services across marine operations and infrastructure.\n\nThe organisation has built a strong reputation for operational excellence and offers employees long-term career stability, professional development and genuine progression opportunities.\n\nThe Role\n\nThe Assistant Marine Operations Manager will support the Operations Manager in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of operational activities, with responsibility for Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ), operational performance, staffing and budget oversight.\n\nThe role also involves leading and developing operational teams, ensuring strong engagement, communication and alignment with organisational values and performance frameworks.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n- Develop, implement and review operational processes and procedures to meet company and client standards\n- Ensure appropriate maintenance programmes are in place and monitored\n- Work closely with central support and technical teams when required\n- Support Duty Managers with staff rostering, scheduling and leave management\n- Assist with the recruitment, retention and development of employees within the performance management framework\n- Maintain strong communication with teams, ensuring staff are engaged and informed of changes, objectives and expectations\n- Build a strong understanding of client operations to identify opportunities for service improvements and business development\n- Support the safe and efficient delivery of operational activities within budget and performance targets\n\nCandidate Profile\n\n- Strong knowledge of the marine or maritime environment\n- Proven experience in team leadership, organisation and people management\n- Ability to remain professional, composed and resilient when working under pressure\n- Excellent time management and organisational skills\n- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team\n- Strong communication and interpersonal skills\n- Basic IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel would be advantageous\n\nAt KHR we take care to ensure that you are represented as well as possible so it is worth checking your CV for layout, spelling and grammar as well as making sure it is up to date before you submit.
