About Cafe Linea Cafe Linea is a neighbourhood restaurant, bar and bakery at home in an iconic 19th-century arcade on Duke of York Square. Inspired by European arcade cafes and bistros, we serve relaxed, produce-led menus from breakfast through to dinner and all those moments in between. Alongside a la carte dining, we offer pastries and patisserie from our on-site bakery, seasonal bouquets from our flower counter, and aperitifs on the terrace. Linea is a place for morning coffee, long lunches, late-afternoon glasses of wine, and candle-lit dinners. The Role Were looking for an Assistant Manager to join our small leadership team and help guide the everyday rhythm of Cafe Linea. Youll work closely with our General Manager to support our front-of-house team, uphold thoughtful standards, and create an atmosphere that feels warm, calm and considered. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the floor, cares deeply about hospitality, and wants to grow with a young, independent restaurant. Key Responsibilities Help set the tone for genuine, attentive service throughout the day.
Support the GM in overseeing operations across the restaurant, bakery and bar.
Train and develop a confident, engaged team.
Keep standards of presentation, organisation and compliance consistently high.
Build relationships with regulars and the local community.
Contribute ideas that improve flow, service and guest experience.
About You Experience as an Assistant Manager or Senior Supervisor in a quality-led cafe, restaurant or bakery.
A calm communicator who leads with empathy and clarity.
Someone who values good food, thoughtful details and well-paced service.
Organised, hands-on and comfortable guiding a team in busy moments.
Excited by the idea of shaping something new and growing as the business evolves.
