Help our public sector clients deliver modern public services that are sustainable, people‑centred, data‑driven and digitally enabled. Support exciting client engagement teams across Local Government, Health, Central Government, and arms‑length bodies, developing analytical skills, insights and consulting expertise through each engagement. Develop sector and technical knowledge and apply it to complex client scenarios, bringing a unique perspective that is valued. Be pivotal in the delivery of engagements, liaising with senior stakeholders within clients. Actively listen and ask probing questions that challenge thinking and propose innovative solutions. Identify, suggest and drive practice development initiatives – internal business development, external marketing or improvement of our consulting toolkit. Take personal responsibility for high‑quality deliverables, demonstrating excellent time‑management and communication skills. Contribute to a positive, enthusiastic and entrepreneurial culture within the team. Understand our Public Sector Consulting services and wider Grant Thornton capabilities to support clients outside your subject area. Build a strong network of contacts within the firm and across the public sector.
Knowing you’re right for us Minimum criteria:
A professional qualification (ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA or CIPFA). Other professional qualifications will be considered if appropriate. Extensive experience using Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint and Excel. Excellent communication and presentation skills across a variety of media.
