Assistant Management Accountant Chorley 9-Month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover) £30,000 per annum Start: January 2026 (or ASAP thereafter)

About the Role We are recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant to join a highly reputable business in Chorley on a 9-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to develop their management accounts experience within a busy and supportive finance team.

The successful candidate will support the month-end process, assist with financial reporting, maintain balance sheet reconciliations, and provide analytical insight to the wider business.

Key Responsibilities * Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts * Prepare journals including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments * Complete balance sheet reconciliations to a high standard * Support cash flow reporting and forecasting * Assist with variance analysis and cost reporting * Maintain financial records and support audit requirements * Process and reconcile intercompany transactions * Support budgeting and forecasting activities * Liaise with internal departments to resolve finance queries * Provide general finance support and ad-hoc reporting as required

Skills & Experience Required ✔ Previous experience in an Assistant Management Accountant or Assistant Accountant role ✔ Strong understanding of accruals, prepayments, journals, and reconciliations ✔ Confident user of Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables as a minimum) ✔ High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy ✔ Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced finance environment ✔ Strong communication skills and willingness to support the wider team

Qualifications Ideally AAT Level 3 qualified or currently studying / working towards AAT Level 3 (or equivalent) Candidates studying Level 4 or pursuing further qualifications will also be considered.
