Assistant Maintenance Manager

The Assistant Maintenance Manager is responsible for helping to oversee all aspects of the hotel maintenance operations, ensuring that all facilities, equipment and infrastructure are kept in excellent working condition. This role combines hands-on technical skills with management and planning to maintain safety and high standards that enhance the guest experience.

When needed, provide assistance to guests and employees.
Promote continuous improvement in the level of quality and guest care provided by the business and make proposals/suggestions where applicable.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily maintenance activities across all areas including guest rooms, public areas, restaurant, and back-of-house areas.
Maintain a preventative maintenance programme (PPM) to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
Use Quore properly and effectively for all areas of the maintenance program.
Respond promptly to urgent repair needs to minimise disruption to guests and operations.
Ensure all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systems are functioning optimally.
Supervise and motivate the maintenance team to ensure high performance, professionalism, and safety awareness.
Following instruction from senior manager, delegate tasks effectively while providing technical support and guidance to staff.
Work with the Maintenance manager to conduct regular performance reviews and identify staff training needs.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health & safety legislation, fire regulations, and building codes. Following maintenance managers instruction and communicate any issues to them.
Carry out regular inspections to identify hazards, address safety concerns, and maintain documentation for audits, reporting on Quore and to maintenance manager any issues there are.
Oversee when requested any statutory inspections for lifts, boilers, fire alarm systems, and other regulated equipment.
Work closely with other departments to address maintenance issues impacting the guest experience.
Ensure prompt and professional resolution of guest complaints related to facilities.
Support the maintenance manager and help coordinate refurbishment, renovation, and capital improvement projects.
