Since our extensive refurbishment of the Rose & Crown in 2021 we have grown as a destination restaurant serving lunch and dinner every day, and breakfast on weekends. We are regularly booked for private events in the first floor private room, anything from weddings to birthday celebrations and dancing parties. In October 2024 we opened The Ox on Clapham High Street. As a Floor Manager at The Ox you are the person who manages the day-to-day operation of the restaurants service alongside the General Manager. The main purpose of this role is to help manage all aspects of the restaurant, ensuring that every customer has the best possible experience, that team morale is high, and that The Ox standards and values alongside commercial success are achieved. You will ensure that the order of service is being followed, that the appearance of the venue is up to scratch & also ensure that customers are behaving as respectable guests. Key Responsibilities Full accountability of the restaurant when on shift especially, when in the General Managers absence. Help to lead a motivated team to ensure a smooth-running, profitable restaurant Assist in hiring, training and supervising of full time and part time employees - you will oversee trial shifts and decide if we should or should not offer the candidate the job Drive sales within the restaurant Ensure all financial procedures are adhered to, which include Labour (organising staff schedules to be in line with agreed budget), Stock control (accurate counting and entering of figures) Support the General Manager in understanding the local area to recognise marketing opportunities and other competitors Ensure the Health and Safety regulations are strictly observed, recorded and archived Monitor quality and availability of products and service provided Hitting agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), which include Customers' feedback and reviews, Health, Safety and Hygiene results, Operational Checks, Periodical P&Ls results, Appraisal feedback Ensure all security procedures are adhered to Completion of all necessary documentation to company standard (e.g. Trail) Work authorisation: United Kingdom (required) Responsibilities: Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily operations of the business, including assigning sections, dealing with customer complaints Coordinate and manage catering events, ensuring excellent service and customer satisfaction Assist with food running and bartending as needed Provide exceptional customer service to guests, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise Assist in managing inventory and ordering supplies Train and supervise staff members, ensuring they adhere to company policies and procedures Maintain a clean and organised work environment Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, such as Manager on Duty or Shift Supervisor in a restaurant. Strong knowledge of catering operations, including food preparation, service, and event planning Familiarity with bartending techniques and floor order of service Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
