Assistant Estimator - M&E

The Opportunity
As an Assistant Estimator, you will support the preparation of cost estimates, tender submissions, and commercial evaluations for a variety of M&E projects, ranging from commercial fit-outs to complex building services schemes. You will work closely with senior estimators and project teams, gaining exposure to all aspects of the estimating process and the commercial side of M&E contracting.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in preparing accurate estimates and tender submissions for M&E projects
* Measure and quantify take-offs from drawings and specifications
* Support cost research, supplier, and subcontractor enquiries
* Prepare material, labour, plant, and subcontractor cost inputs
* Assist in compiling bills of quantities and tender documentation
* Collaborate with the commercial and project teams to gather and verify data
* Maintain estimating databases and cost libraries
Requirements
* Some experience in estimating, quantity surveying, or commercial support (M&E or construction experience preferred)
* Understanding of construction drawings and basic measurement principles
* Strong numeracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills
* Effective communication and teamwork abilities
* Desire to learn and develop in estimating and commercial roles
* Relevant construction qualification or demonstrable experience
