The faculty incorporates seven academic departments with broad ranging programmes of activity across research, education, impact and engagement, thought leadership, and knowledge transfer, alongside several vibrant institutes and centres within which the role holder will be based.
The Centre Manager will play a key role overseeing management of a portfolio of activity for centres and institutes to deliver a high-quality operational infrastructure and delivery in close collaboration with Centre and Institute Directors and relevant professional services faculty and college teams.
The Centre Manager will oversee and manage delivery of operational and communications related centre and institute activity and objectives within their portfolio, monitoring resources and finances, reporting and data. This includes budget and resource management, coordinating internal and external reporting, research and grant development to ensure financial sustainability, and events management and delivery of communications activity. You will also oversee human resource management process for your portfolio, role modelling an inclusive culture of trust, engagement and continuous improvement.
They will join the Centres and Institutes Business Operations team comprising of two Centre Managers, two Senior Business Operations Officers, and one Communications and Engagement Officer.
This is a full-time post (35 Hours per week full time) and you will be offered an indefinite contract. We would also consider applications for job-sharing and flexible working requests.

Education to degree level or equivalent professional experience in project /research management, operations, or administration
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and work to tight deadlines
Experience of managing budgets including experience monitoring income and expenditure for large, complex budgets
Numerate, and adept at understanding, analysing and presenting data to a range of audiences
Commitment to continuous improvement and building an efficient and effective operational service
Commitment to equality and diversity and embedding associated principles into your professional activities
Project Management or similar equivalent qualification or training
Experience working in Higher Education, research, academic, or other non-profit sectors
