Regional Recruitment Services are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in Leicester, who are looking to add an Assembly Operative to their Assembly Team on a temporary to permanent basis.

The Role

The Assembly Operative will be responsible for assembling components and sub-assemblies within a manufacturing environment, ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed timescales.

The role involves following defined build instructions and working methods, with a strong focus on safety, quality, attention to detail and teamwork. The successful candidate will operate in line with established processes, quality standards and operating procedures to meet production and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Assemble components and sub-assemblies using engineering drawings
- Identify, pick and verify components required for assembly
- Inspect incoming parts and liaise with Goods In regarding discrepancies or damage
- Assemble products in line with drawings, build sequences and quality standards
- Safely and efficiently use hand tools, pneumatic tools and electric tools
- Carry out post-build quality inspections on completed assemblies
- Troubleshoot and resolve assembly or production issues where possible
- Meet daily and weekly production targets
- Maintain high standards of quality and workmanship at all times
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by management

Candidate Requirements

- Previous experience assembling fabricated metal products
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Confident using hand-powered and electric assembly tools
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality
- Self-motivated, adaptable and able to use initiative
- Good problem-solving ability
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Professional, reliable and honest approach to work
- Positive attitude towards continuous improvement and change
- Desire to build a long-term career within manufacturing
