Are you an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Graduate QS, or Quantity Surveyor with NEC3 experience looking to work on a truly iconic project? The role has come available due to a promotion to Commercial Manager
This is your opportunity to be part of the £6 billion HS2 Main Works Civils Area North, delivered by the BBV Joint Venture (Balfour Beatty Vinci JV). The largest single contract on HS2 with a monthly spend of £80 - £100m, this is one of the most complex and high-profile civils packages in Europe. BBV is responsible for constructing 100km of line of route valued c£6bn, consists of 42 Viaducts, 66 bridges, 35 cuttings, 56 culverts, 66 embankments, green tunnels & 4 motor crossings.
The Role
As an Assistant Commercial Manager, you’ll play a key part in the post-contract commercial delivery of this major NEC3 Option C civils package. Working within a lean client team, you'll support a Senior Commercial Manager, while also taking ownership of specific assets within your remit.
This is a hands-on role with meaningful responsibility. You’ll support:
* Compensation Event (CE) processes
* Applications for Payment
* Commercial reporting and contract administration
* Risk and change management
* Supply chain analysis
* Dispute resolution
* Contract performance inputs for internal monthly reviews (MBRs)
This role offers career-defining exposure to commercial and project management on a megaproject scale—ideal for someone looking to rapidly develop into a Commercial Manager.
What We’re Looking For
✔️ Degree-qualified Assistant QS, Graduate QS, or Quantity Surveyor
✔️ Experience with NEC3 or NEC4 contracts, particularly in post-contract administration
✔️ Experience in civils/infrastructure, rail, heavy civils, highways, utilities, etc
✔️ Familiarity with CEMAR or similar contract management platforms
✔️ Strong communicator and collaborator
✔️ Self-starter with an appetite to grow and learn
✔️ Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

* Station New Builds - £570m Curzon Street, £400m Birmingham Interchange - 2033
* Rail System Alliance - £550m Rail Depot, £1.2bn Signalling Package, £500m M&E Systems, Track, Power, and more (through to at least 2034)
