Are you an aspiring social worker looking to gain practical experience working with children and young people? Whether you’re a recent graduate or exploring a career change, this is a fantastic opportunity to work as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) across mainstream and specialist schools in London.


Milk Education is recruiting for both full-time and day-to-day supply roles to start in September 2025.

Ideal for Aspiring Social Workers Interested In:

  • Social Work degrees or Step-Up to Social Work programmes
  • Careers in safeguarding, family support, or child protection
  • Experience in Early Help or Youth Offending Teams
  • Building knowledge of child development, trauma, and emotional regulation
  • Gaining insight into multi-agency work and holistic child support


Role Responsibilities May Include:

  • Working 1:1 or in small groups with pupils needing extra support
  • Supporting children facing challenges such as trauma, anxiety, neglect, SEN, or behavioural needs
  • Building consistent, trusting relationships with students to help them feel safe and supported
  • Collaborating with school staff, SEN teams, and external services
  • Promoting inclusion, emotional wellbeing, and resilience within the school community


Person Specification:

  • A graduate in Social Sciences, Psychology, Education, or a related field
  • A strong interest in neurodiversity, mental health, and inclusive education
  • Empathetic, reliable, and committed to making a positive impact
  • Experience with children or young people (in schools, care, youth work, or community settings) is desirable
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
