A forward-thinking primary school in Bexley is seeking an enthusiastic Aspiring Primary Teacher to join their permanent team from April 2026. This role offers the chance to work in a structured, supportive environment where developing confident readers and fostering a love of learning is a priority.
The school is part of an Outstanding Two-School Trust, known for its high academic standards and strong focus on early literacy. Staff benefit from excellent leadership, collaborative practices and opportunities to gain experience ahead of teacher training or a PGCE.
Aspiring Primary Teacher | Whats on Offer:
- Permanent, full-time position starting April 2026
- 36 hours per week, term-time only
- Salary on Bexley06, equating to approximately £25,600 per annum pro rata
- Work closely with experienced teaching staff and literacy specialists
- Gain practical experience to support a future teaching career
- Support the delivery of phonics and early reading lessons in EYFS and KS1
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils needing additional help with decoding, blending and reading confidence
- Assist in preparing resources and activities to enhance phonics teaching
- Track and report pupil progress to class teachers and the SEN team
- Encourage pupils to develop enthusiasm for reading and independent learning
- A xbpsjku graduate with strong literacy skills and an interest in primary education
- Someone looking to gain permanent classroom experience and build a teaching career
- Organised, proactive and able to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
- Experience working with children is desirable but not essential
