ASD Support Assistant – Wakefield SEN School Position: ASD Specialist Teaching Assistant Location: Wakefield Contract: Part-Time or Full-time, long-term Start: ASAP Salary: £95–£115 per day (DOE) About the Role We are looking for a compassionate, patient and emotionally intelligent ASC Specialist TA to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition. Many pupils experience sensory sensitivities, anxiety around transitions, and communication differences. You will play a key role in helping them feel safe, regulated and understood. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASC Use structured routines, visual aids and clear communication Support sensory regulation and reduce anxiety triggers Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage engagement Work closely with teachers, SENCO and therapy teams What We’re Looking For Experience supporting children with ASC or additional needs Calm, patient approach with xehkeey strong emotional intelligence Understanding of sensory needs and communication differences Ability to use proactive and positive support strategies Why Join Us?
