Area Housing Manager  – Exeter / Plymouth Patch

Rate: £28.28 per hour Hours: 37 per week (Monday–Friday) Location: Exeter (Hybrid with travel across Plymouth) Contract: Temporary (until end of May 2026 - potentially longer or to go perm)About the Role

We are recruiting an experienced Area Housing Manager to deliver high-quality, customer-focused tenancy and neighbourhood management services across approximately 5,500 homes within the social housing sector.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead a team of Housing Officers across the Plymouth area, ensuring effective tenancy management, strong performance and positive outcomes for customers and communities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, manage and motivate a team of Housing Officers Deliver effective tenancy and neighbourhood management services Manage complex tenancy issues including ASB, safeguarding, hoarding, domestic abuse and tenancy fraud Ensure compliance with housing legislation, policies and risk management requirements Handle customer complaints and drive service improvements Work collaboratively with internal teams, local authorities and partner agencies Use data and customer insight to improve service delivery Maintain oversight of fire and property safety actions across schemes Build strong relationships with stakeholders including local authorities and elected members About You
