Applications EngineerLocation: Rochdale Salary: £32,000 - £34,000 plus benefits packageAbout the RoleWe are looking for a motivated and technically skilled Applications Engineer to join our growing team. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and commercial activity, providing technical support to both customers and internal sales teams.You will play a key role in ensuring correct product selection, troubleshooting customer challenges, and delivering high-quality, customer-focused solutions within the water treatment sector.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical sales support by responding to customer enquiries and advising on appropriate product selectionPrepare technical proposals, specifications, and assist with quotationsTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues with practical and commercially viable solutionsDevelop and maintain strong knowledge of water treatment products and their applicationsDeliver product presentations, demonstrations, and customer training where requiredCollaborate with sales, marketing, and engineering teams to support business growth and project deliveryAnalyse customer feedback to contribute to product improvements and innovationSupport pre-sales activities by providing technical expertiseIdentify and pursue cross-selling opportunitiesManage and pre-qualify incoming customer enquiries from both a technical and commercial perspectiveSkills & CompetenciesStrong technical background combined with commercial awarenessAbility to translate complex technical information into customer-focused solutionsExcellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skillsAnalytical thinker with strong problem-solving abilitiesCustomer-focused, target-driven mindsetAbility to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively across teamsProficiency with engineering tools and softwareCapable of working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentExperience & QualificationsBachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field (preferred)Experience in water treatment or reverse osmosis systems is highly advantageousAbility to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and system specificationsPeople & CultureActively promote and embody the companys core values and cultureContribute positively to team collaboration and continuous improvementIf youre a technically minded professional with a passion for solving customer challenges and driving commercial success, wed love to hear from you.JBRP1_UKTJ
