About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Application Development Manager to lead, oversee, and evolve the organisation’s Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform estate. You will manage a team of 10 developers, drive best-practice engineering, and play a pivotal role in re-architecting the organisation's D365 CE application into a modern, service-focused design. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a large-scale, mission-driven public sector environment using cutting-edge Microsoft technologies—one of the largest AI-enabled Power Platform implementations in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and line-manage a team of 10 developers across D365 and Power Platform projects and BAU work. • Oversee development, delivery, and technical quality across model-driven apps, canvas apps, Power Automate, and Power Pages. • Contribute to the re-architecture of the D365 CE application into a service-orientated design. • Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions. • Provide technical direction across C#, .NET, JavaScript, Azure services, Logic Apps, and CI/CD pipelines (YAML). • Support the development lifecycle, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-quality engineering practices. • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and adherence to best practice. • Collaborate with analysts, architects, and delivery teams to ensure alignment with organisational strategy.
Candidate Requirements
Experience & Skills
Proven experience as a Development Manager, Technical Lead, or Lead Developer within Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform. • Must have line-management experience leading development teams. • Strong experience with Model-Driven Apps, Canvas Apps, Power Automate, and Power Pages . • Technical expertise in C#, .NET, JavaScript , and Azure (including YAML pipelines). • Experience with Logic Apps ; familiarity with Power BI and Service Bus is beneficial. • PL-400 certification advantageous. • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and requirements-gathering skills.
