API Integration Developer Contract Type: Inside IR35 Rate: £400+ per day Location: Remote Duration: 9-12 months About the Role Exalto Consulting are working with a client on a large-scale integration migration programme and is looking to bring in experienced API Integration Developers. This programme is focused on modernising how systems integrate and how data flows across the organisation. A number of existing integrations are being migrated onto a more flexible, low-code platform, with the aim of improving reliability, maintainability and overall visibility of services. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role. You'll be working across a mix of API-led and file-based integrations, helping to design, build and transition services in a way that is stable, clear and aligned with the wider platform architecture. You'll also work closely with data and platform teams, particularly where integrations interact with data environments such as Azure Databricks or Data Lakes. What you'll be doing: Building and supporting REST API integrations between systems Migrating existing integrations onto a modern low-code platform (e.g. Workato or similar) Working across both real-time (API) and file-based (SFTP/MFT) integration workflows Collaborating with engineering and data teams to ensure integrations are robust and well-aligned Troubleshooting and improving existing integrations to ensure reliability and performance What you'll bring: Strong experience building REST API integrations (typically 5+ years) Hands-on experience with Workato, PowerApps, or similar integration/low-code platforms Good understanding of HTTP protocols and system-to-system communication Experience working with SFTP or file-based integration workflows Solid understanding of data structures and database principles Exposure to Azure Databricks or Data Lake environments would be beneficial, particularly where integrations interact directly with data platforms. This role would suit someone who enjoys practical integration work, is comfortable working across different integration patterns, and can contribute quickly within an established delivery team. If this sounds aligned with your experience, we'd be happy to share more detail and discuss whether it could be a good fit.JBRP1_UKTJ
