Job Title: Market Data Business Analyst

Location: London, UK

Work Mode: Hybrid (2–3 days onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Market Data Business Analyst to support the management, optimisation, and governance of market data services across the organisation. The role will work closely with Front Office, Risk, Finance, IT, and Market Data Vendors to ensure accurate, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of market data solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong domain knowledge of financial markets, hands-on experience with market data platforms, and excellent stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Gather, analyse, and document business requirements related to market data usage, sourcing, distribution, and entitlement

Act as a liaison between business users, technology teams, and external market data vendors

Support market data onboarding, vendor integration, and platform migrations

Analyse market data consumption to support cost optimisation, licensing compliance, and vendor rationalisation

Work on data quality, data lineage, and data governance initiatives

Define and maintain business process flows, functional specifications, and data models

Support regulatory and audit requirements related to market data (e.g. MiFID II, data controls, usage reporting)

Assist with UAT planning and execution for market data related changes

Provide impact analysis for new instruments, exchanges, or vendor services

Required Skills & Experience

Market Data & Domain Knowledge

Strong understanding of financial instruments (Equities, FX, Fixed Income, Derivatives)

Hands-on experience with market data vendors such as:

Bloomberg

Refinitiv (Reuters)

ICE, CME, LSEG, Markit, or similar

Knowledge of market data licensing, entitlements, and redistribution models

Business Analysis Skills

Proven experience as a Business Analyst in banking or financial services

Strong skills in:

Requirements elicitation

Functional & non-functional documentation

Process mapping (AS-IS / TO-BE)

Gap analysis

Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery models

Technical & Data Skills

Understanding of data flows, feeds, APIs, and reference data

Experience working with market data platforms and internal distribution systems

Basic SQL or data analysis skills (nice to have)

Familiarity with data governance and control frameworks
