Full-Time Autism Support Teaching Assistant – Radyr Area Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded primary school in the Radyr area, providing specialist one-to-one support for a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder. About the Role Working closely with the class teacher, ALNCo, and wider support staff, you will provide structured and individualised support throughout the school day to ensure the pupil is fully included in all aspects of school life. Your responsibilities will include adapting learning activities to suit the pupil’s individual needs, implementing visual supports and communication strategies, and using sensory or emotional regulation techniques to help the pupil remain engaged and settled throughout the day. You will support transitions between lessons and activities, help the pupil navigate social interactions with peers, and encourage the gradual development of independence wherever appropriate. A strong understanding of routine, patience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging moments will be essential in this role.
