Here at Brockenhurst College, we are looking to recruit an A-Level & GCSE English Teacher on a full time, permanent basis (part time hours and job share will be considered). In return,you will receive a competitive salary of £33,367 to £44,365 pro rata per annum (pay award pending). (Unqualified teachers £26,436 to £33,367 pro rata per annum.)

About the role:

As the, A-Level & GCSE English Teacher you will continually improve the learning experience and achievement of students through effective teaching.

Responsibilities as our A-Level & GCSE English Teacher will include:

• Plan, deliver and assess in a way that is inclusive for all learners and allows all learners to make progress and achieve.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment for A-Level English Language and Literature and GCSE English Language.
• Deliver 4.5 hours of taught lessons per class per week and 2 additional hours of ‘Independent Learning' tasks that can be tracked.
• Develop the effectiveness of teaching, learning, and assessing strategies within English Language and Literature.
• Develop teaching and learning resources for English Language and Literature students.
• Develop and update the interactive learning platform.
• Communicate effectively with learners utilising our interactive learning platforms.
• Ensure learners are taught through a variety of activities.
• Develop teaching and learning resources.
• Monitor learner progress both in and out of class.
• Monitor KPIs such as levels of attendance, retention and outcomes on courses.
• Monitor learner satisfaction and continually seek ways of improving the service we provide.

As our A-Level & GCSE English Teacher, you'll ideally have:

• Degree or equivalent professional qualification in relevant subject area to include English
• Excellent teaching skills;
• Able to manage learners and learning effectively;
• Able to develop effective learning resources.
• Knowledge and understanding of current developments in English Language and Literature A level.
• Supportive and positive approach to teaching and learning;
