The Aircraft Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day maintenance operations across multiple aircraft maintenance teams. This role provides direct leadership to Aircraft Maintenance Team Leaders, ensuring that all maintenance activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies. The manager acts as the key point of coordination between leadership and the shop floor.
JOB DUTIES:
Lead, mentor, and support Aircraft Maintenance Team Leaders. Coordinate and schedule daily maintenance operations to ensure aircraft readiness and minimal downtime. Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company maintenance procedures, and safety standards. Review and approve work orders, maintenance logs, and documentation for accuracy and completeness. Facilitate communication between technicians, team leaders, and upper management. Monitor performance metrics to ensure maintenance goals and deadlines are met. Participate in audits, inspections, and corrective action plans as required. Support the training and professional development of team members. Recommend improvements to maintenance processes and resource utilization. Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and facilities. Operate an effective system to track shop load and facilitate scheduling. Determine what type and number of personnel are necessary to operate the Service Department. Authorize overtime as necessary. Ensure that performance reviews are conducted for personnel. Make recommendations to the Director of Service regarding personnel additions and deletions. All other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY OVER:
Maintenance Team Leaders and Technicians
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in aircraft maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role. FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification required. Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and industry best practices. Proven leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and organizational abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
