As an Advanced SEN Practitioner for Adults at Yeovil College , youll champion inclusive learning , boost learner confidence, and support adults to thrive both in the classroom and in the workplace . This full-time, term-time-only post offers the chance to make a meaningful impact within a supportive, forward-thinking team dedicated to helping every learner succeed.
As a key member of the SEND Team, youll play a vital role in delivering high-quality ALS/SEND support for adults and some apprentices , with adult provision at the heart of your work. Youll co-ordinate, triage, and deliver tailored interventions that help learners with a range of needs succeed in mainstream courses, while also managing Access to Work referrals and providing hands-on Job Coach support that builds confidence, skills, and strong employer partnerships . From maintaining accurate records and supporting Cognassist assessments to guiding apprenticeship learners , contributing to staff training, and taking part in EHCP reviews, youll be central to ensuring learners feel prepared, supported , and ambitious about their next steps. What we're looking for:
A strong interest in working with young people and adults with additional needs.
Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
A Special Education Needs background and knowledge along with IT and admin skills are key for the role
Level 2 English and Maths, or willingness to work towards.
Level 3 Award for Learning Support Practitioners or willingness to work towards.
Respectful of learners personal needs and maintain confidentiality at all times.
