Alecto Recruitment is partnering with an established company within the Anaerobic Digestion sector who is actively looking for a Plant Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of their team in Suffolk.
Responsibilities and Key Duties:
Lead site operations by example, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant day-to-day plant performance. Oversee all plant activities, including out-of-hours call-out cover, to ensure continuous operation. Ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory, and company requirements (e.g. Ofgem, HSE, EA, APHA, PAS110). Promote a strong safety culture, working closely with Health & Safety and management teams, and close out audit findings and corrective actions. Manage, recruit, train, motivate, and performance-manage plant personnel, including succession planning and disciplinary actions where required. Maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors, and visitors. Monitor plant performance, resolve operational issues, and drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and reliability. Manage plant budgets and costs, support financial controls, and contribute to improving company profitability. Ensure availability, reliability, and maintenance of plant and equipment in line with production targets. Review, maintain, and develop site procedures, documentation, and reporting, ensuring actions are implemented and communicated.
Skills and Qualifications
COTC is desirable, not essential IOSH, NEBOSH are desirable, not essential Line Management; 121s, appraisals Experience in AD preferred, however transferable skills from diverse process backgrounds welcome to apply. Willing to embrace change and challenge processes to improve the efficiency and the effectiveness of the site/company Mechanical aptitude Able to self-manage workloads and priorities Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines Excellent written and verbal communications skills Commitment to achieve the highest standards of work at all times Takes full ownership of tasks through to conclusion
