Overview

A respected and forward-thinking accountancy practice is seeking a motivated Client Manager to join its growing team. This office-based role offers strong professional development and the opportunity to manage a varied portfolio of clients across accounts, tax, and audit services while progressing towards ACA or ACCA qualification.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of clients under the guidance of senior management, acting as the main point of contact for day-to-day queries.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, management accounts, corporation tax returns, and personal tax computations.
  • Support the planning and delivery of audit assignments, ensuring compliance with relevant auditing standards.
  • Provide bookkeeping, VAT, and compliance support, maintaining accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and a proactive advisory approach.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance client service delivery or introduce value-added solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the practice to ensure efficient workflow and consistency in client experience.
  • Continue developing technical expertise and progress towards full professional qualification.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Actively studying towards ACA or ACCA qualification.
  • Experience within an accountancy practice, ideally supporting clients across accounts, tax, and audit functions.
  • Strong understanding of UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and audit principles.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive, solution-focused mindset.


Desirable Attributes

  • Experience supporting SMEs, owner-managed businesses, or charities.
  • A genuine interest in developing both compliance and advisory expertise.
  • Confidence in managing client communications and contributing to meetings.
