Your new company Hays are working with a successful business who are looking for an experienced Accountant to join their team in Shrewsbury. working closely with the FD and finance team
Your new role
Reports directly to the Finance Director, supporting the delivery of accurate and timely financial information Works closely with the wider finance team to ensure strong financial controls and efficient processes Assisting with month‑end close, management accounts, and balance sheet reconciliations Assists with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management across construction contracts Ensures compliance with statutory, tax, and industry‑specific requirements Liaises with operational and commercial teams to provide meaningful financial insight Supports continuous improvement of finance processes and systems within the business What you'll need to succeed
Experience working to deadlines and supporting month‑end processes Confidence collaborating with a Finance Director and wider finance team Proactive and organised, with a willingness to learn and improve processes What you'll get in return
This will give you the opportunity to work closely with an experienced Finance Director and knowledgeable finance team as well as real involvement in live projects, gaining strong commercial exposure You will be working within a supportive, collaborative working environment with scope to develop skills and take on increased responsibility over time Stable role within an established business
